MATTHEW 5--GREAT DIFFERENCE IN MOUNTAIN & MULTITUDE. MOUNTAIN IS OPPOSITE OF MULTITUDE. Jesus left the multitude behind. The mountain peaks are never crowded. I climbed many mountains & I was almost always alone. Why?
1) It's hard work.
2) Not very many people desire to climb mountains.
3) It's lonesome.
4) You have to forsake all to do it.
5) It is apt to cost you your life.
6) Lots of scratches & bumps.
LONG AFTER THE VALLEY WAS IN DARKNESS I COULD STILL SEE THE SUN. THERE IS MORE LIGHT ON THE MOUNTAIN. The valley is almost always dark--full of people & things, but usually in darkness. The mountain is windy & cold but thrilling! You really have to have the feeling that it's really worth dying for!--ANY MOUNTAIN--THE MOUNTAIN OF THIS LIFE, THE MOUNTAIN OF ACCOMPLISHMENT, THE MOUNTAIN OF OBSTACLES, OF DIFFICULTY--IF YOU'RE GOING TO CLIMB THEM, THEY HAVE TO BE WORTH DYING FOR, to brave wind & cold & storm, symbolic of adversities. But on the mount alone you feel so close to the Lord! The voice of His Spirit there is so loud it's almost like it's thundering! The voice of the multitude is so loud in the valley, you can't hear the voice of God. The silence on the mountain peak is deafening! You get a real "high" on top of a mountain! It's a thrill! It's almost terrifying!
ONLY PIONEERS CLIMB MOUNTAINS--people who want to do something that no one ever did before--people who want to get above the multitude--beyond what has already been done & accomplished. PIONEERS MUST HAVE VISION--VISION TO SEE WHAT NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE; FAITH--FAITH TO BELIEVE THINGS NO ONE ELSE BELIEVES; INITIATIVE--INITIATIVE TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO TRY IT; COURAGE--THE GUTS TO SEE IT THROUGH! On the mountain you are the first to see the Sun rise & the last to see it set! You see the full circle of God's glorious creation! You see the World in its proper perspective with range after range to be conquered & a World beyond the horizon of normal men! A World beyond their vision & beyond their horizon! You see distant peaks yet to be climbed! You see distant valleys yet to be crossed. You see things that the men in the valleys can never see.--Can't even comprehend because they can't see it. And you can see the 360° circumference of the total horizon-the entire scope! It's like seeing all of life from its beginning to its end & understanding. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE LIVING IN ETERNITY; WHEREAS DOWN BELOW THEY'RE LIVING IN TIME...

IT JUST THRILLS US TO SEE HOW IT'S GOD WHO IS DOING ALL THIS!--No one in particular, no personality cult, no individual who has to be there, but the LORD by the power of His Holy SPIRIT! So it's thrilling to us how the Lord is working & that God has started this, God is keeping it going & He is going to conclude it in His time.
YOU CANNOT LOOK TO YOUR OWN WISDOM, you cannot rest in your own understanding, you must look for the supernatural, miraculous & powerful leading & guidance of the Holy Spirit. It's IMPOSSIBLE to solve these problems on your own. Lean not to your OWN understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge HIM & HE shall direct your paths.
SO REMEMBER THAT YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS IN YOUR OWN WISDOM, your own strength, your own mind, your own understanding, your own trying to put two & two together. But you're going to have to ask the Lord by the supernatural, miraculous power of the Holy Spirit, to give you downright, outright, upright revelations, HEAVEN-RIGHT, straight from Him, to show you exactly what to do.
NOW THIS IS WHAT WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN DEPENDENT UPON: HE'S THE ONE we've always had to look to for leadership in all the former decisions & in the laying of plans & programmes. Some of you know me well enough, you've lived with me long enough, you've watched me in operation long enough to know that I never make a decision on my own if I can possibly help it.
I NEVER EVER MAKE A SNAP JUDGEMENT OR USUALLY EVEN A QUICK DECISION. Some people get very impatient with me because they think I'm so slow, because I can't give an immediate answer. This is because they're giving too much credit where credit is not due, & that's to ME--that I am the one that ought to know & I'M the one that is making the decision. But you know me well enough by this time, & you know by our history for years now that this is not so.
BUT I WANT TO TELL YOU, THIS IS GOD'S WORK, & if this thing be of GOD, NO man can stand against it & it's not dependent on ANY man, you understand? It is not dependent on ANY man or even any GROUP of us. If this thing be of God, no man is going to affect it one way or the other. But if it were of MAN, then the whole thing would come to naught...

Everybody in this big central room under the dome, they are all looking up like they expect something. People are rushing around out in the wings, like they're busy in the service of the King; but the people here under the central dome just stand there quietly & look up, bathed in that beautiful, beautiful golden glow from above, taking big deep breaths of that Heavenly air that comes down the pipe, getting a whiff of that fragrance now & then. Oh, Lord, for a breath of Thy Heavenly air to refresh us & clear our minds & inspire our hearts & give us visions that thrill us, that set our heads awhirl for Thee, Jesus! PTL
It's just like the people who are so busy rushing around get tired & they have to come in the middle room & look up & take a nice big breath & catch another vision & take another look & get filled up again. IT'S HIS TEMPLE. Help us to be like that, Jesus, & to remember WE CAN'T GO ON WITHOUT THE HEAVENLY VISION You give, a breath of Heavenly fresh air, the sound of that sweet music! We just CAN'T GO ON WITHOUT HEARING THY VOICE & BREATHING THE FRAGRANCE of that wonderful incense & seeing the beautiful starry sky & getting inspired by the UPWARD look!
Have you been in the Temple today? Are you taking a look upward? Have you breathed deeply of that Heavenly elixir? Have you heard those beautiful notes of Heavenly music--marvelled at God's starry sky, His great Creation, His Universe, to know that all is well & find rest & peace to your souls before you go back to work in the wings
You wouldn't worry & fret so & be so upset if you spent more time with the Lord looking up through that starry dome & breathing that Heavenly air & hearing that beautiful music! You'd find peace & rest unto your souls. You just cannot go on if you ONLY hurry around all the time in the wings & you never step into the rotunda & look up through the dome, spending quiet time, seeing Heavenly visions & breathing Heavenly air & hearing Heavenly music & voices! It just totally renews you & completely refreshes you & gives you new vision & fresh inspiration, new strength, rest & peace & joy!
Have you been there to get a fresh breath of air from Heaven?--If you haven't, you've really missed something! You're going to get awfully tired & weary & upset & fearful & doubting & discouraged & worried & flurried & hurried because you haven't been RENEWED in THE TEMPLE OF HIS SPIRIT with THE VOICE OF HIS TRUTH & THE HEAVENLY VISION...

The fact of the matter is that the dear little Flatlander, in his pride, hates to admit that there's anything beyond his level. Poor fellow! How limited his vision, how narrow his realm, how restricted his scope of operation! Since he can't go anywhere else, he just hates to admit that there is anywhere else. And he is particularly furious with anyone who claims to have been lifted up into that other world and caught a glimpse of what is beyond his own little domain. But just because he doesn't believe in a realm that is invisible to him, that doesn't make it not so!
And so it is even with what the Bible calls the "natural man" who refuses to believe that anything such as a fifth dimension, a spirit world, could possibly exist, simply because he's never seen it or been there. "The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him" (1 Corinthians 2:14). And so he says, "There just ain't no such thing"-simply because he never saw it before.
To dismiss the entire spiritual realm like that would be just as absurd as if you were to say, "I don't believe that New York City or London exist because I've never seen them or been there." How ridiculous can you get!
The Bible is full of evidence, stories and positive declarations of the existence of this fifth dimension, the spirit world. Some of its immortal characters, having passed on into it through death, even came back to tell us about it. Others were lifted up into the realm of the spirit to get a brief glimpse or vision of it, and many received messages from there. And some of us have even been there! I have, so I know it exists....
